For all of those wondering, Mara of the Wilderness was a brilliant film in the 60s. It just so happened that some wonderful sisters, Danielle and Teresa, managed to see this grand production enough times for it to make an impact on them thus becoming a term of endearment for any amazon-like feat of strength while in the great outdoors.

I'm seeing a certain picture of 'Mara Teresa' with a machete at our Fort Wilderness campground and a funny picture of you washing your hair with the garden hose. Kudos on being resourceful chica!

Cindy, I'm glad you were able to get clean hair by practicing some simple Mara-type hygiene routines. There's nothing wrong with going back to nature a bit - or as I like to say 'kickin' it old school.' Mara can be a hero for us all today as we endeavor to live greener and more natural lives ;)
